Looking Ahead: Our First Financial Audit
As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency, we want to share that Kindness Ranch is currently undergoing our first official financial audit, which will be completed in 2026.
We recognize that, compared to industry norms, this step may feel a bit overdue. That’s not something we take lightly, and it certainly wasn’t by design. Prior to the pandemic, Kindness Ranch was still a relatively small organization, finding our footing, adapting to new leadership, and building a sustainable foundation. Then everything changed.
In the years that followed, we saw a dramatic rise in the number of animals coming from research facilities. The world shifted, and so did we. And then came the turning point, Envigo. When nearly 4,000 beagles were released from one of the most high-profile cruelty cases in recent history, we stepped up in a major way. Kindness Ranch became a key player in placing these dogs with loving homes across the country. It was a moment that defined us, not just in terms of visibility, but in responsibility.
In the wake of that growth, our top priority was ensuring that the “new normal” wasn’t a temporary surge, but something we could sustain with integrity. We’ve worked hard to grow responsibly, adapt to increased demand, and maintain our high standards of care without compromising our mission or values.
Now that we’ve stabilized in this post-pandemic landscape, it’s time to formalize the back end of that growth, starting with a professional audit. This process is underway, and once complete, we will publish the full audit here for all to see. We believe you deserve nothing less than full accountability, and we welcome this as another way to strengthen your trust.
