Are You A Pig Person?
This past two weeks saw the arrival of nine cats and five pigs to the ranch, and let me tell you, it’s easy to fall in love with every single one of them! We often define ourselves by the animals we identify with the most. The animals we gravitate towards are the ones that reflect our own characteristics and traits. "I’m a dog person,” or, “I’m a cat person,” as though we have to declare which animals we most closely identify with. But you know what? Spend time with any of the animals at the ranch and you will suddenly find yourself a lover of animals that you’ve never encountered before. Step into the pig pen and the pigs, out of curiosity, will make their way over to you for a pet or a kiss.

Step into the cat yurt and witness this. They are very discriminating, cats, and you will have to earn their trust and affection, but when you do, what could be more rewarding?

Alas, only cats and dogs can be adopted. But be forewarned, you will want to take any one of the pigs, horses, sheep or goats home with you. What these animals give us in the way of love and affection teaches us lessons that we can never learn from another human being. The least we can do for them is provide them with a safe, loving future so they can relax and live out their lives in peace. This is why Kindness Ranch exists, and it only takes a visit to meet the animals to understand the necessity of a place like this. They say that the way a society treats their animals is a reflection of their values. Being in a place where our values are lived and perpetuated every day just feels right and good. That’s what we all mean when we say that this place will change you. We hope to see you in the new year! You can now book your visit online.
