Some cows and llamas come to Kindness Ranch after taking part in basic veterinary training programs. When they are used in this way, it is important that their experience centers on gentle handling and minimal stress. Training should focus only on simple, low-impact skills such as calm restraint and routine health checks, always carried out by trained professionals who understand and respect the animals’ physical and emotional needs. They should never be asked to endure unnecessary procedures or any situation that creates fear or discomfort.

Each animal ideally arrives with a record of the training they were used in, though this is often not the case.. This would help our team understand their background and provide the support they need as they transition into sanctuary life.

Once they reach Kindness Ranch, everything changes for the better. Here, cows and llamas are given the time, space, and care to feel safe again. They settle into a quiet environment where their comfort guides every decision. They form bonds with caregivers who offer patience, consistency, and respect. Their days become predictable and peaceful, filled with soft bedding, open pasture, and gentle attention. At Kindness Ranch, their wellbeing is the priority, and their quality of life improves in every way.
