Animal Welfare and Veterinary Oversight Statement

At Kindness Ranch Animal Sanctuary, the health, safety, and emotional well-being of every animal in our care are our highest priorities. We operate under the principles of fear-free, force-free, and compassion-based animal care, striving to exceed the minimum standards of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal Welfare Act (AWA) and other applicable federal, state, and local animal-care regulations.

Our sanctuary maintains a current USDA license and is regularly inspected to ensure compliance with the Animal Welfare Act and its regulations. All species housed at Kindness Ranch, including dogs, cats, horses, pigs, cows, goats, sheep, and llamas, receive individualized care plans designed to meet their physical, behavioral, and social needs.

Veterinary oversight is provided by licensed veterinarians who work closely with our trained animal care and veterinary support staff. All medical treatments, vaccinations, and procedures are conducted in accordance with established veterinary standards and under direct or delegated supervision of a veterinarian. Preventive care—including regular health checks, dental and hoof care, parasite control, and enrichment-based behavioral assessments—is a core component of our program.

Kindness Ranch does not breed, sell, or conduct any research involving animals. Every animal who comes to our sanctuary is a former research, teaching, or production animal who has been retired into permanent sanctuary or prepared for adoption into loving homes.

We continually evaluate our facilities, protocols, and practices to ensure they reflect the most current understanding of humane, low-stress animal care. Our commitment is simple and unwavering:

Every animal at Kindness Ranch is treated with compassion, respect, and the highest possible standard of care.
