When Dr. David Groobman founded Kindness Ranch Animal Sanctuary in rural Wyoming, he purchased enough land for the sanctuary and for an adjacent personal retreat. For his retreat, he built a second home for his family as well as two cabins for guests. In September 2011, Dr. Groobman made a generous gift of his retreat to the Kindness Ranch. The additional land added to our pasturage for our horses and added his vacation home — now called the Kindness Manor — and the two cabins for visitors to the sanctuary. For people looking to spend time at Kindness Ranch and wanting more living space than our one- and two-bedroom cabins offer, the Kindness Manor is just the thing.
Located high atop a bluff on the edge of the 1,000-acre sanctuary, the Kindness Manor offers a spectacular forty mile, 360-degree view. Secluded from all other buildings on the property, you can enjoy complete peace and quiet if that is what you wish! But of course, visitors are always welcome to schedule a tour of the property and visit the animals who call Kindness Ranch home.
The Kindness Manor is an easy 3.5-hour drive north of Denver, and two hours from Cheyenne or Casper. We’re eight miles north of Hartville, a quaint town of less than 70 people and home to Wyoming’s oldest bar. Nearby towns include Guernsey, Wheatland, Lusk, Fort Laramie, and Torrington.
Staying at the Kindness Manor is a true treat. A striking building, this home has two bedroom wings connected by the open-plan kitchen and living room. Large windows look out upon fabulous views in every direction. With radiant heat and air conditioning throughout, the Kindness Manor is comfortable in all seasons.
The spacious Manor comes complete with everything you’ll need to make you feel at home. The custom-designed master suite includes a curved staircase leading you to a private sitting room, complete with wet bar and a breathtaking view. Three more bedrooms feature comfortable full beds and private bathrooms. Finally, two bunk beds in the kids'/game room give the 3,500sf Kindness Manor sleeping space for up to 12 people.
The open-plan kitchen, dining room, and sunken living room make the Kindness Manor an incredibly desirable retreat. Relax on the wrap-around deck, prepare a hearty meal, enjoy your favorite movies, or anything else you might do at home. The living room includes a modern entertainment center with satellite television. You’ll have plenty of space for your entire family - even your dog can join you!
It is our desire that people staying at the Kindness Manor experience the beauty and tranquility of southeastern Wyoming and the amazing energy of our rescued animals, and leave with renewed hearts, planning to return again soon.
