Kramer 2756 This guy is a 2 year old, large orange and white handsome fella.  He would prefer to be in a home without dogs.

Kramer 2735 Kramer is a kind and gentle soul; his favorite place is on his back on the kitty couch and he especially enjoys when there is someone there to tickle his tummy.  Kramer is not the usual cat, and has a very unique personality that would thrive in a home where he can give his love.

Chevy

adopted-chevy Chevy was adopted on 7/27/2010

Meet Chevy's New Mom!

Chevy, King of the cat yurt, is soon to be King of his very own home. After six weeks of interning at Kindness Ranch, Samantha has fallen hard for this large golden former research cat. Chevy spent numerous nights with Samantha in her cabin. While she would fall asleep, Chevy would curl up beside her, occasionally pawing her for extra attention. His special meow goes right to her heart.

Samantha, a senior from Truman State University in Missouri majoring in agriculture, has always loved animals. After her time at Kindness Ranch, she has interest in using her degree to assist efforts in animal welfare, perhaps by working at a sanctuary. Chevy has been a very special part of this journey, and he will continue to be a much loved part of her life.

Samantha would be the first to agree that getting to know the residents of Kindness Ranch can be a powerful experience. Chevy is one of the first cats to come to Kindness Ranch when we opened our doors. He came to us from a university laboratory. Now, he will enjoy all the comforts of home with Samantha.

Tony

Tony 759.28 22 of 72 *Tony was adopted in February 2017 by Mary and James from Casper, WY.

Life is one big party for this handsome devil! In between hanging out with his feline buddies and munching on kibble, Tony can often be found charming our guests with his outgoing personality. Where there are people, Tony is not too far away, and he can’t wait to find a family of his very own. This big three-year-old loves to play with all kinds of toys, enjoys sunbathing, and doesn’t get into too much trouble when left home alone. Tony would love to go home with one of his Kindness Ranch buddies, or with a family who already has another cat, but he’d also do great as a single cat in a home with plenty of love to share.

Bobcat

adopted-bobcat Bobcat was adopted on 7/5/2010

An Accidental Meeting!

Kelley, a Kindness Ranch intern from Truman State University, did not meet the new love of her life in the usual manner. On her first day on the job, Kelley walked through the kitchen in the cat home and Bobcat literally fell into her arms from atop the refrigerator. Lucky for Bobcat, Kelley has quick reactions. She held Bobcat cradled in her arms after her tumble. Over the next six weeks of her internship, Kelley spent time with Bobcat every day. By the completion of Kelley’s time here, it was a foregone conclusion that Bobcat, a seven year old former research cat, was meant to be a permanent part of her life.

From that first meeting, Kelley noticed Bobcat’s expressive eyes and how she looks at her with trust. Kelley began taking Bobcat on sleepovers at her cabins. Bobcat would return Kelley’s affection with little “cat kisses,” as Kelley calls her gentle licks. She especially grew to enjoy how Bobcat would fall asleep by her side, her laid back disposition, and her friendliness to other cats. Bobcat has an endearing habit of rising up on his hind legs to wave his paws at you in the friendliest of greetings.

An avid cat lover, Kelley is a senior at Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri. Her love for animals was obvious in her energetic work with the animals throughout the course of the internship. This past weekend, the two of them flew happily flew back to Missouri. They are a perfect pair. The two will keep each other in good company as Kelley starts back to school in September.

Jayne

JaynePink Jayne may be the smallest cat in the Kitty Bunkhouse, but there is no doubt that she has one of the biggest personalities! At two years old, this social butterfly is active, playful, and is always looking for someone to hang out with. She loves her sisters and adores people, and will even climb onto the shoulders of the staff members as they are working so she can go along for the ride. Jayne is always one of the first cats out of the door to meet arriving visitors at the front gate of the Bunkhouse, and she can often be found hanging out in the outdoor run. Jayne could probably live with cat-savvy dogs and a confident, friendly cat. As long as she gets plenty of love and attention, she will be a happy girl!

Oscar

adopted-oscar Patches was adopted on 6/18/2010

Oscar heads home!

One year ago, Eric Juhala of Pennsylvania visited Kindness Ranch and fell in love with Oscar. Over the course of the year, he didn’t forget him. When he came back to the ranch this past month, it was with an important purpose in mind — to adopt Oscar and bring him home.

Oscar is a very loving 13 year old former pet food tester. He adores people, and loves to sit on their laps (especially Eric’s!), but he really doesn’t like to be around many other cats. For this reason, everyone at Kindness Ranch especially hoped that Oscar would find his special someone. After a several day drive back to Pennsylvania, Oscar and Eric have settled in, and all is well. Eric has updated us with pictures of Oscar blissfully sleeping on his lap. We couldn’t be happier that Oscar has found his lifetime home!

Corey

Corey resize Corey is a friendly, playful guy who is usually one of the first to greet visitors at the Kitty Bunkhouse. He loves to chase wand toys and bat around ball toys, and likes to explore the outdoor cat run. He also likes to climb all the way to the top of the cat tree and watch the world from above. His favorite places to nap are on the back of the couch or squeezed in to the smallest cubby he can find in a cat tower. Corey can often be found hanging out with his buddies, Willy and Chester, and would really enjoy having considerate kitty friends in his new home.

Rocky Goes Home!

Rocky is now called Remy and happily settling into his new home! Rocky came to Kindness Ranch from a laboratory, and he has now been adopted by Patricia Rustanius of Boulder, Colorado! With his own fenced in outdoor play yard and lovely indoor home, Rocky is in heaven.

He has been accepted by Patricia’s other animals, and now enjoys starting his day with catnip and a good race around the house. Afternoon is spent napping on Patricia’s bed. He has become attached to Patricia and wraps his arms around her neck when she holds him. Of course, Patricia finds this absolutely endearing!

Stripe

Stripe 098 *Stripe was adopted in June of 2016 to a family in nearby Guernsey, WY. He will be living happily ever after with Connie and her two children!

Stripe's 16th birthday is this September and our wish for this sweet senior is a nice quiet home of his very own. Having spent 13 years in a lab, Stripe is enjoying the good life in the Kitty Bunkhouse. He is most often found lounging in the sun on his favorite chair. Stripe enjoys having his sweet little nose rubbed as well as a good scratch on the bottom. He would welcome a home with animal friends as long as they are more on the quieter side. As long as he is given plenty of love at this stage of his life, Stripe will be happy and grateful. Do you have an extra chair for this well-behaved gentleman?

***APPLICATION PENDING***

Leia may be little, but this tiny princess has all the attitude of a big cat – a lioness, even! Leia is an independent and curious cat who likes to keep an eye on all of the action in the Kitty Bunkhouse to make sure things are just the way she wants them. She is never too far behind while our staff is cleaning, and is the first to check what's going on when there's a disagreement among the other cats. When she's in the mood for attention, though, this three-year-old is as sweet as can be and doesn't mind being held – as long as there are ear scratches involved! Leia would be perfectly happy as an only cat or sharing her home with others, and we think she could learn how to live with dogs, too. If you love little cats with big personalities, then Leia is just the girl for you!

Delta

adopted-delta Delta was adopted on 5/15/2009

Delta is the movie queen in the bunch. She loves to pose. Most times you will find her perched on the cat tree or up on the catwalk looking down at everyone, in her most beautiful stance. She will cock her head to the side and just look at you with the most beautiful, deep green eyes. She is always perfectly groomed, never a hair out of place and I wouldn’t be surprised if she has the other cats acting as her servants when we are not around. She will be more than happy to put her paw print on your heart! She has adjusted quickly to home life after her time in a laboratory.

Baretta

baretta 1 resize Miss Baretta is a special kitty here at Kindness Ranch; she is 8 years old and loves people but is more of a one person kind of cat.

Snuggles

adopted-snuggles Snuggles was adopted on 08/29/2010

Snuggles is a cat who lives up to her name. You will often find her lovingly nuzzling a fellow feline, a friendly caretaker, or snuggling under the bedcovers. She also has big and beautiful eyes. It was those eyes staring out from our webpage that captured Joni Munsterteiger’s attention, and now Snuggles is looking forward to her future with her own loving family in Riverton, Wyoming.

Joni came to the ranch with her two sons, Brad and Brandon Zeller, as well as Brad’s girlfriend, Ashby Sowers. All are animal lovers so they were more than willing to drive the eight hours round trip to the ranch. After all, a new cat in the family is cause for celebration.

The family took the time to get to know all the cats. Walter Mitty was thoroughly entertained as they teased him with toys so he would fly through the air in his efforts to catch them. Max enjoyed cuddles while lounging in a favorite cat bed. Jewels strutted through the room receiving pets from each person as she went by.

Over time, Brad and Brandon knew Joni’s instincts were right. Everyone agreed. Snuggles is the one for them. We couldn’t be happier. Snuggles was dumped at the ranch as a kitten when the sanctuary first opened. From that time on, we all looked forward to the day when Snuggles would have her own adoring family. Congratulations, Munsterteiger family!

Dotti

Dotti likes to nap on the couch as much as she likes to chase toys, and as long as she's getting some attention and love, she's a happy girl! You don't ever have to worry about him getting lost, because you better believe that if something exciting is happening – play time, wet food time, new visitors - he's right there in the middle of it! Zazu

Zazu 09-001 Zazu is a people-loving, chit-chatting, toy-chasing cat who marches to the beat of his own drum. This big handsome boy loves when people come to visit and is often in the center of the action, if not the source of it! He is still working on his manners around the other cats, and the Kitty Bunkhouse may be a little too full for his liking, but we think that he could learn to live with a few other easy-going cats. Of course that's not to say that he wouldn't love being someone's one-and-only, either! Zazu loves to explore the outdoor cat run and is often the first one at the gate waiting for staff to arrive in the mornings – so we imagine he'd be the first one to greet his new forever family at the door every time they come home! Skip

Skip collage 1

*Skip was adopted in November 2016 by Esteban from Laramie, WY. Skip will surely be happy as the only cat in his home, soaking up all of the attention for himself.

Skip was a bit of a shy boy when he first came to the Kitty Bunkhouse, but he has become quite comfortable over time and is now officially part of our welcoming committee! In between entertaining visitors, this active four-year-old loves to chase the laser pointer, relax on the porch in the cat run, or hang out with one of his many feline friends. Skip is a low-maintenance guy who doesn’t need much to be happy, and you can easily win him over if you offer to give him a good brushing, which he absolutely loves! This boy has been waiting patiently to find his very own family, and would do great in any home with a little bit of extra love to share!

Stormy

adopted-stormy Stormy was adopted on 08/15/2010

Back in March, Emily Draper, a University of Colorado at Denver student, came to Kindness Ranch with several other students for an alternative spring break program. Within days, she fell in love with Stormy, a 10 year old soft black cat. She spent hours on end holding and cuddling affectionate Stormy. Emily left the ranch with a heavy heart as she could not adopt Stormy due to her living situation with other family members. As the months went by, Stormy stayed in her heart and mind. Just weeks ago, Emily made plans to move into her own home in Aurora, Colorado complete with a sunny window seat. As she packed her bags, she filled out the adoption application for Stormy. She lovingly picked out a cat bed for Stormy and placed it in the window seat in anticipation.

Stormy, a ten year old cat, was used in pet food research. He has been at the ranch for nearly two years waiting for his perfect family. Always affectionate, he is very partial to comfy pillows and blankets.

Upon arrival at Emily’s home, Stormy checked out the food and water bowl then happily settled into the cat bed on the window seat. Sun showered down on him as he stretched out in the bed. He purred while being groomed and showed every sign of deep contentment with his new environment. His purrs grew louder as Emily lovingly nuzzled his face.

Emily is a natural caretaker and lover of animals. She grew up in a house with six kids. Prior to moving into her own home, she lived with her sister and her husband helping to take care of her two nephews. As long as she can remember, she has had a pet. From dogs and cats to ferrets and pigs, Emily has a love for animals of all shapes and sizes. From the moment he stepped in the door, Stormy seemed to sense he had finally come home.

Sarah

Sara resize Sarah is a 2 year old tabby with green eyes. She is very mellow and a petite kitty, but can definitely hold her own when the bigger guys try to get one over on her.

Sarah 2746 Her favorite place is on the kitty couch and she enjoys napping outside, napping under the rocks. Sarah’s friends are Corey, Willy, Ming Ming, and Rainbow. She would prefer a home without dogs.

Roger

Roger 947 Roger is an independent and playful two-year-old who would love to find his forever family. He can be a little reserved at first, but once he is comfortable, you will find him inviting himself into your lap and making sure he gets his fair share of attention. This handsome fellow loves to explore the high-up spaces in the Kitty Bunkhouse and often likes to just sit and watch the action from above. But bring out the wand toys and you better believe he will be front and center! Roger is a sweet and affectionate cat, and we know that he will make a great addition to the right family some day!

Tilly

Tilly 10 *Tilly was adopted in January 2017 by Makailee and Travis from Evansville, WY.

Tilly is a playful girl who is just as happy to be exploring the outdoor cat run as she is to be napping comfortably in a soft bed. This three-year-old isn’t one to get into too much trouble, though she will stand up for herself against the bigger cats if she has to. She has a great time playing with toys and visiting with people, and can’t wait to find a family who would love to have a fun and friendly feline in their lives. Tilly also wouldn’t mind sharing her new family with another cat or two, and we’re sure she could pick a friend to go home with if given the chance!

Chester

Chester 8835.28 35 of 72 *Chester was adopted in January 2017 by Darin and Starla, who drove over two hours to meet our kitties and take one home! Though they came with a different cat in mind, Chester turned on the charm and stole Darin's heart especially, so now he will be joining them and their dog at their home in southern Nebraska!

Chester is a very friendly four-year-old cat who would make a great addition to any home. He has been at the ranch with his brother, Willy, since he was only six months old, and although he has a good life, nothing would beat having a family of his own! Chester has very unique ways of showing his affection for his favorite people, including playing with their feet and trying to climb into their pockets. He is curious and playful, and loves chasing wand toys, spending time basking in the sun, and hanging out with his friends. It is said that two cats are better than one, and the handsome pair of Chester and Willy would look great peering out your front window side-by-side!

Tommy boasts an impressive resume: enthusiastic, plays well with others, fantastic communication skills – the list could go on for pages! Luke

Luke 728 *Luke was adopted in July 2016 by Hector, who drive all the way from Kearney, NE, after his best friend, Sam, met and fell in love with Luke while at the ranch adopting a cat of her own!

Luke might look like a tough guy, but we promise that he's really just a big softy! This big three-year-old boy loves getting attention from his people and can snuggle like a pro when the mood hits him. Other times, he can be found exploring the cat run at the Kitty Bunkhouse or just hanging out with one of his buddies. Luke would have no problem sharing his home with a few other cats, but may need some time to warm up to the idea of a dog friend. But our staff is always here to help coach you through the introductions! Overall, Luke is a pretty low-maintenance guy who could probably fit in to just about any home. This big, handsome boy would look fabulous sitting in your window, don't you think?

Chewie can be a bit of a shy boy at first, but once he trusts you he is as sweet as can be! This low-maintenance three-year-old often keeps to himself in the Bunkhouse, but usually all it takes is the promise of a few treats to get him to come around. He loves to spend time chasing bugs (and he’s pretty good at catching them!) and napping in the sun, and he always appreciates a good ear scratch. Chewie prefers there to be peace and harmony in his home and will get far away from any conflict that may arise, so you can count on him to never start any trouble. This cutie would be an easy addition to any family – maybe that family could be yours!

Willy

Willy 999 1
*Willy was (finally!) adopted in February 2017 by Christine, Corey, and Riley from Mead, CO! Willy will have the best home a cat could dream of - a loving, dedicated family, a cat-friendly house and back yard, and even a dog of his very own to play with!

Willy is a confident, outgoing kitty who will keep you on your toes for years to come! At four years old, this friendly boy is as playful as it gets and is always looking for something to do. He is very curious and will always offer his help when you are busy - whether that means he needs to re-file your papers for you, check out those new boxes that came in the mail, or reorganize the kitchen counter, Willy is on the job. Willy spent the first months of his life in a research facility, but it did not take him long to learn about the finer things in life and he knows now that he deserves the best! This sweet boy believes that everyone is a friend, and especially loves it when the sanctuary dogs stop by for a visit – in fact, we think that Willy would love to have a dog of his very own! Willy spends a lot of his time with his partner in crime, Chester, and these two boys would really love to find a home together!
