The Sweet Life

Who knew a horse could love Starlight peppermints as much as Hailey? Life is sweet at Kindness Ranch for Hailey. Not only does she get to enjoy the occasional peppermint, but she gets to do so with her best friend and half sister, Honey!

Hailey and Honey recently arrived with four other horses from a major research university on the East coast. Bit by bit as they adjust to life on the ranch, their sweet personalities are coming out. While Hailey has a passion for peppermints and being with her sister, Faith will stand absolutely still for brushing. When you stop, she follows you around. She is the leader of the group, but sometimes likes to run of in the pasture just to be by herself. Mary Kay will lean into you for a good neck rub. Tom enjoys a nice walk and is a pleasure to lead. Gracie is so friendly she will come running from the pasture to greet you.

Release of laboratory animals to aniaml sanctuaries is not the norm. Euthanasia is far more common. The laboratories that are working with us are breaking with precedent. We urge others to follow in their footsteps so we may share more happy stories like those of Faith, Hailey, Honey, Tom, Mary Kay, and Gracie.
