Pitter Patter
The cat cabin is alive with the sound of the pitter patter of cats’ feet hitting the ground as the six latest feline arrivals explore their new home. Formerly used in vaccine studies, the cats are like acrobats jumping and leaping as they find the perches, beds, windows, and outdoor play area.
The cats were purpose bred for research and arrived at the facility as kittens. Most were born in 2003. They have been in many vaccine studies since then.
Their behavior is not what you might expect of cats from research. Siblings Sabrina and Midnight enjoy leaping upon your back when you least expect it. Patches takes great flying jumps from the window sill to land on the top level of a bunk bed. Bob Cat will lean back on his hindquarters so he can wave his front paws at you. Walter Mitty zips around the ground, never tiring of chasing toys. He also loves to lick you to show his affection. Jewels enjoys her bed on top of the kitchen cabinets where she can survey all that is going on below.
These are the first animals we have received from this laboratory, and we hope to assist with the adoption and placement of many more animals in the future.
