Full Circle

Full Circle

Several months ago, we welcomed Zoey and four other treeing walker coonhound mixes to the ranch. The five dogs were part of a drug study. Three of the dogs adjusted rapidly and happily to their new lives at the ranch. Zoey and Emma were much more shy. Over time, however, we saw Emma change from tentative to touchingly happy. By April, she was doing 360 degree spins in the air to express her joy. Watching this glee, we knew Zoey was ready for her new adoptive home. This May, her perfect person found her.

Peg O’Connor, a first grade teacher and high school counselor from Denver, CO, saw Zoey’s picture on the web. Her beautiful doe eyes captivated her attention. She cared enough for Zoey to wait to adopt her until staff at Kindness Ranch felt Zoey was ready for adoption. Peg then came to the ranch to meet Zoey in person. After a walk and feeding her treats on the couch, she knew they would be a perfect match.

Now living with Peg in Denver, Zoey has adjusted well to her new and comfortable life. She has a large fenced yard to play in, and Peg takes her on walks regularly. Peg enjoys gardening. Zoey enjoys time in the sun by her side while Peg tends to her roses. As her children are now grown and out of the house, Peg was looking for a dog that would enjoy lots of companionship and love. Such gentleness will be welcomed and fully returned by Zoey. Zoey’s life has truly come full circle.
