Bow Wooooo!!!
It is hound heaven here at the ranch. With summer sunshine, fresh air, and miles of road, Chester and Sergeant Pepper knew they had hit gold on their first walk at Kindness Ranch. With ears flying in the wind, the two dogs celebrated their new lives with a few happy howls, kisses for their caretakers, and some brisk leaps in the air. It is a new beginning for these hounds, once used in food supply research.
Each of the dogs has a unique and endearing personality. We believe the dogs were in research for quite some time, but both are healthy, loving, gentle, and looking for their new special families. Chester, 6.5 years old, is the most confident of the two when meeting someone new. Sergeant Pepper, 7.5 years old, is initially more reserved. As trust builds, he is eager to stop on walks for cuddles. He looks up at you with eyes that dare you not to fall in love. Both dogs are very relational and eager to bond.
As middle aged dogs, they make great companions. They are energetic, but also like to lie down and hang out. They are affectionate with people. At this point, they are still in quarantine (we quarantine all new dogs for 18 days), but we have every reason to expect they will get along well with other dogs. We look forward to introducing them to the home environment in the dog cabin and all the love that goes along with it.
If you are looking for a new addition to your family, Sergeant Pepper’s and Chester’s compelling gazes and charming personalities may well capture your heart.
These are the first dogs given to us by this research institution. They agree with us that these dogs deserve happy and loving homes. As always, we hope other institutions will follow in their example.
Chester and Sergeant Pepper are here due to the generosity of our donors. These special people help to pay for transport and the animals’ care once they are here at the ranch. We especially thank Janet Duke of St. Louis, Missouri for her donations to support the dogs’ transport.
